Gallstone Flush & Liver Detox – Recipe & Cleanse Info

With the exception of the skin, the liver is the largest organ in the body and performs over 500 functions, far more than any other organ in the body. We cannot be healthy or recover from illness without a strong, clean well-functioning liver. If the liver is unable to carry out its full function, not only does it become congested and weak; all other organs will be more challenged as a result.

All information in this article is for educational purposes only.
It is not for the diagnosis, treatment, prescription or cure of any disease or health condition.

Imagine how much happier you liver feels after releasing these!

If you want to do more specific liver cleansing, you can try a Liver/Gallstone Flush at home. This flush can be done in just 24 hours, so it is easy to fit into a busy schedule. It is recommended that you have done a full 7-day cleanse prior to this flush, mainly to take the toxic pressure off your organs and to be sure that your body is alkaline.

In the days before the cleanse, it is important to avoid fried and fatty foods so your liver is not over-worked or stressed. Avoid avocado, cheese, nuts and fatty meats for at least 3 to 5 days before this cleanse. If you work a normal Monday – Friday work week, it is best to plan to do this cleanse on Friday night, that way you have the entire weekend to rest, relax and recover.

Mix Olive Oil and Fresh Lemon Juice in a bottle

The most common recipe to use for this cleanse comes from Dr. Hulda Clark’s book A Cure for All Diseases. If this is the first time you are trying this cleanse, I recommend that you use this formula, outlined below. If you release more than 200 stones in the first flush, it is recommended that you repeat the cleanse every 6-8 weeks until you have less than 20 stones come out. It is believed that you may have to release up to 2,000 stones to rid yourself of allergies linked to liver congestion. On my first Gallstone/Liver Flush, I released 600 stones – no joke!

Please note that with Dr. Clark’s recipe, she recommends using ornithine to help you sleep and she also recommends to do a parasite cleanse before you do the Gallstone Flush. If you want to do those things, that’s ok; personally I have never used ornithine and I’ve done this cleanse 13 times in the past 10 years. I did not do a parasite cleanse initially, although I have done them since…in my opinion you do not have to do a parasite cleanse prior to this flush, but admittedly you may get better results if you do so.

Preparation

Eat a diet high in alkaline-forming foods and low in fats for at least 3-5 days before the cleanse.

Help to gently prepare the liver by having a glass of fresh apple juice every day for 1 week prior to the cleanse. Apple juice helps to dissolve the stones.

Gallstone Live Flush Ingredients

  • Epsom salts (Magnesium Sulfate): 4 tablespoons. (You can usually buy this at your local pharmacy.)
  • Olive oil: 1/2 cup or 125 ml (light olive oil is easier to get down).
  • Fresh pink grapefruit: 1 large or 2 small, enough to squeeze 1/2 cup (125 ml) juice. (Or use 7-8 fresh lemons/limes: squeezed into 1/2 cup juice.)
  • 1 liter jar with lid.

Gallstone Liver Flush Instructions

Choose a day like Friday or Saturday for the cleanse, since you will be able to rest the next day. Take no medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without; they could prevent success. Stop the parasite program too, the day before. Eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch such as cooked cereal, fruit, fruit juice, bread and preserves or honey (no butter or milk). This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.

Mix Epsom Salts and Water, marking the bottles with a black marker to know how much to drink each time

2:00 PM. Do not eat or drink after 2 o’clock. If you break this rule you could feel quite ill later. Get your Epsom salts ready. Mix 4 Tbsp. in 3 cups (750 ml) water and pour this into a container or jar. This makes four servings, ¾ cup (185 ml) each. Set the jar in the refrigerator to get cold (this is for convenience and taste only). Note: I also make the 9:45pm drink described below at 2pm and I put it in the fridge, ready to drink later. Making all the drinks at my last meal makes me feel more committed to do the cleanse, and I can prepare everything while not feeling hungry. I highly recommend that you do this too, and do not allow any re-negotiation to skip the cleanse for another day just because you feel slightly hungry at 6pm.

6:00 PM. Drink one serving (¾ cup) of the Epsom salts and water drink. If you did not prepare this ahead of time, mix 1 tbs. in ¾ cup water now. You may add 1/8 tsp. vitamin C powder or 1/4 fresh lemon squeezed to improve the taste. You may also drink a few mouthfuls of water afterwards or rinse your mouth.

8:00 PM. Repeat by drinking another ¾ cup (185 ml) of Epsom salts and water drink. Get your bedtime chores done. The timing is critical for success.

9:45 PM. Pour ½ cup (measured) olive oil into the pint jar. Squeeze the citrus fruit (fresh grapefruit, lime or lemon) by hand into the measuring cup. Remove pulp with fork. You should have at least ½ cup. Add this to the olive oil. Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard until watery. Do not drink it yet!

Now visit the bathroom one or more time, even if it makes you late for your ten o’clock drink. Don’t be more than 15 minutes late. You will get fewer stones.

10:00 PM. Drink the potion you have mixed. Take it all to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Get it down within 5 minutes (fifteen minutes for very elderly or weak persons).

Lie down immediately. You might fail to get stones out if you don’t. The sooner you lie down the more stones you will get out. Be ready for bed ahead of time. Don’t clean up the kitchen. As soon as the drink is down walk to your bed and lie down on your right side with your knees pulled up close to your chest. Try to think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a train of stones traveling along the bile ducts like marbles. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts!). Go to sleep, you may fail to get stones out if you don’t. Try to sleep in this position.

Next morning. Upon awakening (6:00 am) take your third dose of the Epsom salts and water drink. If you have indigestion or nausea wait until it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don’t take this potion before 6:00 am.

8:00 am (2 Hours Later.) Take your fourth (the last) dose of the Epsom salts and water. You may go back to bed again.

After 2 More Hours you may eat. Start with fruit juice (see note below). Half an hour later eat fruit (see note below). One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light. By supper you should feel recovered.

*NOTE – Fresh apple juice is the best juice to break the fast. At 10:00am, make fresh apple juice using 5-6 large apples in a juicer and drink it. The apple juice helps dissolve gallstones and is a nice transition for the liver from the detox back to normal eating. After 30 minutes, prepare a chopped apple salad or a plain apple smoothie using 3-4 apples (with the skin is ok). If feeling unwell, stay with apples and apple juice for the entire day. Only transition to light foods, salads and regular eating when you are feeling good again.

How well did you do? Expect diarrhea in the morning. Use a flashlight to look for gallstones in the toilet with the bowel movement. Look for the green kind since this is proof that they are genuine gallstones, not food residue. Only bile from the liver is pea green. The bowel movement sinks but gallstones float because of the cholesterol inside. Count them all roughly, whether tan or green. You will need to total 2000 stones before the liver is clean enough to rid you of allergies or bursitis or upper back pains permanently. The first cleanse may rid you of them for a few days, but as the stones from the rear travel forward, they give you the same symptoms again. You may repeat cleanses at two week intervals. Never cleanse when you are [acutely] ill.

Sometimes the bile ducts are full of cholesterol crystals that did not form into round stones. They appear as a “chaff” floating on top of the toilet bowl water. It may be tan colored, harboring millions of tiny white crystals. Cleansing this chaff is just as important as purging stones.

How safe is the liver cleanse? It is very safe. My opinion is based on over 500 cases, including many persons in their seventies and eighties. None went to the hospital; none even reported pain. However it can make you feel quite ill for one or two days afterwards, although in every one of these cases the maintenance parasite program had been neglected. This is why the instructions direct you to complete the parasite and kidney cleanse programs first.

CONGRATULATIONS

You have taken out your gallstones without surgery! I like to think I have perfected this recipe, but I certainly can not take credit for its origin. It was invented hundreds, if not thousands, of years ago, THANK YOU, HERBALISTS!

Gallstones can be flushed easily and naturally with no pain!

This procedure contradicts many modern medical viewpoints. Gallstones are thought to be formed in the gallbladder, not the liver. They are thought to be few, not thousands. They are not linked to pains other than gallbladder attacks. It is easy to understand why this is thought: by the time you have acute pain attacks, some stones are in the gallbladder, are big enough and sufficiently calcified to see on X-ray, and have caused inflammation there. When the gallbladder is removed the acute attacks are gone, but the bursitis and other pains and digestive problems remain.

Gallstones Released Naturally

The truth is self-evident. People who have had their gallbladder surgically removed still get plenty of green, bile-coated stones, and anyone who cares to dissect their stones can see that the concentric circles and crystals of cholesterol match textbook pictures of “gallstones” exactly.

Hi Healthy Bliss team and everyone here,

I would just like to thank you for this cleansing procedure. It works!

Few months ago, I’ve experienced sharp pains on my left side of the body and shoulder, I thought it’s just a one time thing, but I noticed that every time I would eat a little more than the usual (which is not really a lot, considering I’m a heavy eater) the pain would come back. So I decided to do the 16/8 Intermitent fasting, and it works really good, I lose about 8.818 lbs in a week time. But there’s one instance that I can’t really walk because of so much pain in my ankle (I thought that I just twisted it from skim boarding) so I went ahead and moved on. Few days after, the pain is so unbearable and I can’t walk anymore. So I did some research about it, and found out that the symptoms are very much similar to gallstones.
Found this procedure(thanks to you guys!)
So I asked someone back home to bring some Epsom salt (since its very hard to find it here in Cambodia).

I would say, Epsom salt is worth drinking (urgh!) for these stones to come out smoothly.

As I write this letter, I have flushed out stones and flushing more. The biggest one is a size of a marble.

Will definitely do this again and recommend to others.
    Thank you so much.

I’m at 11:00am the morning after I started the cleanse and I don’t think it worked. Drank the epsom salt solution (using Sky Organics epsom salt) at the allotted times. At 10:00pm on the dot I drank my olive oil (kirkland organics) with 1/2 cup of a fresh squeezed orange. Immediately lay down on the right side and fell asleep. Woke up at 6:00am and felt nausea, so waited for the feeling to pass. Drank epsom salt solution at 6:30a and another at 8:00a. So far I have passed nothing. Had a “normal” small BM at 8:00am with no signs of stones or chaff. My stomach feels a little rumbly” but thats about it. What went wrong???? : (

Update: Seems like it may be starting to work. About 20 stones came out. But still not “running to the bathroom” like I expected. Is that normal? Will more stones come out during the day? Was it because I used orange instead of grapefruit/lime/lemon?

      Dear Marwan,

Only your medical doctor can advise you whether to go on or off your medication. I cannot answer that question since I am not a medical doctor. That’s the way the legal system works.

If you cannot fall asleep sharply upon resting your head on the pillow, I would suggest that you just try to meditate on all the good health you have now and in the future. Staying still is most important. Relax. Breathe. Eventually you should fall asleep.

      Good luck!

in order to improve body alkalinity, its recommended by Andreas Moritz to drink a baking soda solution ( 1200ml water, Juice of 2 lemons, 1 teaspoon of sodium Bicarbonate in the preparation phase prior liver flush ). That will lead to increase alkalinity and improve the metabolism rate. how many glasses are allowed per day and for how long I can keep drinking it?

If Magnesium is the active ingredient in the Epsom Salts, why can’t I just use Magnesium Powder? Just wondering.. I am gathering info and planning on a gallbladder cleanse (my 1st one and I want to be successful)
Also,I caught Hep B from a blood testing clinic in 2007. I went in for a hormone panel so I could do NHRT. They used a dirty needle on me. They were in the news. Im just lucky I didn’t get Hep C like the others.. Anyway,my body was so healthy that I kicked the Hep B in 6 wks and at 8 wks,I was considered cleared of the virus 😀 Should I have done a cleanse after that? Im wondering how much gunk i have in my liver/gallbladder. I feel bad that I waited this long to do the cleanse.
98% of my diet consists of Organic/Non-GMO simple foods. I have been eating healthy since the early 80s.

      Dear Kelly,

Looks like your hard work for many years paid off and the results showed in your immune system bouncing back so quick. That’s really great.

Yes, you can use Magnesium Citrate powder in lieu of the Epsom salts. Classically, Magnesium Sulfate (aka Epsom Salts) is used because it has a strong laxative effect and works very quickly, which is what you want for this cleanse. I have used both and for many years I found the Epsom salt worked well. More recently, I tend to prefer Magnesium Citrate powder. Just make one drink at a time with citrate powder so the powder doesn’t clump up too much in the water.

You want to AVOID magnesium oxides because they contain titanium dioxide, a questionable ingredient and some would say a carcinogen when ingested.

Hope that helps and good luck!

      My best,

      To your health,

      Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

Just did this one day course and thought leaving a feedback and also ask a follow up question if you don’t mind.
I generally don’t have a problem and I am more interested in the general health benefits of this process. I therefore I did not fish around of what came out.
After an hour of gym session, a good breakfast, and sufficiently hydrated, I stopped eating at 2pm. Then continued with the course as described and stuck to the timings and measurements.
Around 5pm or 6pm I had a massive headache. I can only attribute this to the hunger I felt around that time. Bear in mind I did not bother with the cleansing prep as I eat very heathy and don’t touch extream fat, salt or high sugar content food anyway. I am regular gym goer, I should add. Just touched the big four O mind you!
Just wondering what I might have missed and caused the headache which is still lingering 24 hours later.
Apart from that everything went well and had a good a sleep too.

      Dear Ibz,

What country do you live in and where did you buy the Epsom salts? (Were they locally sourced or purchased online)?

You may have had a low quality Epsom salt, unbeknownst to you, and gotten some headache from that. If you decide to do the cleanse again. I would suggest to use Magnesium Citrate powder in place of the Epsom salt. Don’t make the magnesium drinks in advance; just make one each time you need it for the 4 drinks. Otherwise the powder will get all clumpy. If you don’t get a headache using citrate powder, then you could reasonable conclude it was the Epsom salts.

In the meantime, be sure to drink plenty of water to help anything lingering flush more easily through your system. A good far infrared sauna (40-60 minutes) can help too.

      My best,

      Jennifer

Hello. I am in my third week of the keto diet and I found that I was constipated and very bloated. My friend recommended this cleanse to me and said she had great success and didn’t really change her eating before starting with the salt. So I didn’t follow the directions and I started drinking the epsom salt at 2pm after having a high fat breakfast and lunch. I have just finished the 3rd serving (had the olive oil and lemon mixture last night) and so far I have not used the bathroom at all. Should I have expected this to work since I was coming off a high fat diet? Is it dangerous for me not to have drank all this epsom salt with nothing exiting?

      Dear Sara,

Being constipated before going into this cleanse would not help you at all. Also not following the directions – probably not the best idea! You should not have expected this cleanse to work for you for 2 reasons: 1) you did not follow the directions and 2) you were constipated going into the cleanse. What else would you expect?!

I’ve had so many clients lately coming to me in tears from the keto diet and the havoc that it wreaked on them. Constipation, headaches, nausea, skin rashes…and believe me, NONE of it is a detox reaction. A high fat diet has no fiber. No fiber means clogged pipes. Clogged pipes means constipation, bloated and auto-intoxication, that is, re-toxifying yourself with your own poop. It’s very frustrating to me, as a professional, to have to clean up the mess that this fad diet is creating! Sorry to put that all out there. I understand you are only trying to find what works best for you!

I would not recommend this detox to anyone who is constipated. You have to get your colon moving first. THEN you can try this cleanse.

Going back to where you are at now…3rd serving and nothing moving. First of all, PLEASE do NOT go back on the keto diet! Eat some fiber girl!! Break your liver cleanse on fresh organic apples, whole apples, with the fiber. Continue to eat only fresh organic fruit until you have a bowel movement. No veggies, no nuts, no seeds, no oils, JUST ORGANIC WHOLE FRUIT. Drink water too. No coffee, caffeine, smart drinks, etc. This may take 1 day, 2 days or even 3 days…depending on how constipated you were before. Once you get your pipes moving again, then see me for a consultation. I can help you clean things up from there! Whatever you do, don’t give up. Good health and feeling good is just around the corner!

      To your health,

      Jennifer

      Dear Nicole,

Freshly made organic apple juice is best, but if you don’t have access to it then buying a store bought organic apple juice is another option. Store bought juices is pasteurized, which kills all the enzymes. Just make sure you buy a brand with no added color, preservatives, or added sugar. You can squeeze fresh lemons or limes with a citrus press, so no need for a juicer there. Definitely do NOT buy already squeezed lemon or lime juice as they usually contain sodium benzoate, a nasty preservative. Fresh is fresh, always the best for optimal healing power. Good luck!

      Dear Jonathan,

The epsom salt drinks are the preparation drinks, prior to the final “cocktail” of olive oil and lemon juice. After drinking the epsom salts, you go about your normal business. No need to lie down at all.

You ONLY lie down after drinking the olive oil and lemon juice drink. I recommend that you lie on the right side, because it’s more comfortable, easier to keep the drink down if feeling nausea, helps to bring the drink to the liver which is on the right side and seems easier for people to fall asleep in this position. Some recipes will recommend to lie on your back, but I find that this can make people feel like they are going to vomit. Either position is ok for the cleanse. Most important is to not move for at least 30 minutes once you choose your position. I hope that helps!

      To your health,

      Jennifer

That said, I personally have had water after 2pm since I’ve done this flush in very hot climates. Usually I drink additional water (if needed) until 4pm and then stop. After you start the drinks, you shouldn’t drink any additional water until the next morning. Make sure you are well hydrated the day before – that also helps.

There can be “chuff” or sandy matter in the green water which is also a sign of success. The other question is – did you lie down immediately after taking the final (olive oil/lemon juice) drink and not move at all for at least 30 minutes? And, did you use real lemons (not bottled lemon juice) and a brand of olive oil that is not “cut” with canola oil (check this list here)? All of these things can make or break your results.

      Dear Shelley,

ACV is great. Also fresh organic apple juice, at least 1 cup or 240ml daily. You can also add fresh ginger to the juice.

The diet is also a major factor of course. During this time you may want to go very simple and easy to digest with homemade veggie soups. Ingredients such as organic carrots and beets are gentle and cleansing for the liver. Definitely avoid fried foods, dairy (including milk, cheese, and yogurt), and also eggs. Eggs, pork, greasy food, onions, fowl, pasteurized milk, ice cream, coffee, chocolate, citrus fruits, corn, beans, and nuts – in that order – are known to bring on gallbladder attacks in people suffering from gallbladder disease.

Here is a recipe for a good detox/cleansing soup you can make at home: https://healthybliss.net/detox-soup-to-make-you-feel-awesome/.

Just did my 4th gallbladder flush. The first 3 flushes had heaps of small stones (1 – 10 mm) and yet this last time, while the stones were all of the larger size (8 – 12 mm), I only had around 10 of these. With the initial 3 flushes I usually had 3 bowel movements with multiple stones. With the 4th flush it feels like it’s been a normal day with only 2 bowel movements. I’m starting to wonder if my body is getting immune to the olive oil and epsom salts? As I do each flush, I feel like I’m getting less able to stomach the epsom salts, olive oil and the whole procedure? Yet, anything verses allowing a surgeon to cut out my gallbladder.

      Dear Drago,

Have you tried doing an enema in the afternoon? I will usually do that on the day after the flush to help each out anything still in there, and usually I see more stones then. You could also try taking magnesium citrate powder instead of the epsom salts and see if your body responds better to that next time. Keep up the great work!!

    Jennifer,
I’ve tried this flush a few years ago with great success. This past weekend I did it again. My older brother ( we’re both in our mid to late 50’s) joined in on the fun. We were successful in clearing lots of stones from our body. After the oil and fruit juice step we laid down ( many state between us lol ) we both experienced after 35 minutes or so… a dire need to run to toilet. I didn’t experience this last time and was able to get through the whole night with the need to go. Is it normal to have to go so quickly after the oil/ fruit juice drink? I actually fasted for the day prior and just stuck to drinking apple juice he was likely eating something but said he drank lots of Apple juice for a few days prior. All in all… Bad stuff was leaving our temple. Very successful. Thank you!

      Dear Craig,

Great story and well done for doing this cleanse with your brother – I wish more families would do that!!

Not necessarily so normal to go to the toilet right after the oil/lemon juice, but one question is – what brand of olive oil did you use? Many brands of olive oil and (sadly) “cut” with canola oil these days. If you had canola oil by mistake, then it could trigger an inflammatory response in the gut, especially if you are not used to having canola oil in your diet. You can check this list to make sure your olive oil is really olive oil:

      https://healthybliss.net/your-olive-may-be-fake-canola-oil-list-how-to-know/

Otherwise perhaps you took too much Epsom salt or magnesium in the last drink before the oil drink?

In the end, the results sounded pretty good so that’s great!!

      My best,

      To your health,

      Jennifer

Please offer some advice on what to do if you vomit the mixture & how long I should wait before I try again?

Are you aware of any type 1 Diabetics doing such a cleanse? I am fairly controlled but am unsure if this will negatively affect me? I am also wondering if I need to do something about my kidneys first? Any suggestions are appreciated.

I just completed this cleanse on the recommendation of a friend. I have had only one acute gallbladder attack (with ultrasound), but have had many gallbladder “aches” after fatty-food binges. For example, last week I had two dinners of macaroni and cheese, and one of pizza, which my gallbladder was telling me wasn’t a good idea.
I must admit, in general, I have a foot in each camp when it comes to home remedies v doctors’ opinions, and I did look at both sides of the argument (“real” stones or not) before starting.
I just completed the cleanse and my gallbladder ache is gone. Were they liver- or gallstones? I honestly don’t know. But it was an easy cleanse, I feel good now and I’ll be doing it again.

      Dear Lili,

Well done and good on you giving a natural remedy a try. You can continue to gently cleanse your liver for another 30 days by making the daily liver flush drink and drink once a day on an empty stomach (in the morning is best). Try to stay on lighter foods that are easier on the liver during this time. Carrot, beets, celery…they are all supporting foods for the liver. Avoid fried foods or too much dairy fat. Castor oil packs are also fantastic for liver and gallbladder.

Hi. I’ve been diagnosed with inflamed gallbladder & stones which the Dr wants to remove. I have Gilbert’s Syndrome & understand that excess bilirubin causes stones in the gallbladder. I’m wondering if this cleanse will help me prevent surgery. However I would have to probably do it periodically for the rest of my life to get rid of reoccurring stones that will develop. I’m not sure what to do. I can’t imagine my Dr will approve of alternative methods when he sees surgery as the simplest solution. I am worried about what my digestion will cope with after surgery without a gallbladder ?????

Hello! I wanted to ask if in your experience a liver cleanse would be good for depression, and if age is a big factor. I’m 18. I have however, though I am slim, eaten some toxic foods in my lifetime. I have read it could be quite effective for depression, brain fog and anxiety, and wanted to hear your take on it. 🙂

      Dear Cameron,

In my experience, the foods you are eating in a daily basis have much more to do with how you feel and your energy levels. Bad mood foods include processed foods containing flavor enhancers like MSG, airplane food, refined sugar, fried foods, and canola oil (that one in particular I have seen connected to brain fog). Good mood foods include fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts and cold-pressed oils like olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil. If you do a liver cleanse and go back to eating bad mood foods, you can still feel very bad. If you are already eating good mood foods and yet feel bad, then it’s time to look a bit deeper into what’s in your food. Canola oil, for example, is in just about everything at Whole Foods. Here is an article I wrote on why I don’t eat 90% of the food at Wholefoods (in relation to hidden glutamates in the food, a definite bad mood ingredient!): https://healthybliss.net/why-i-dont-buy-90-of-the-food-at-wholefoods/ Thanks for stopping by and all the best!

Thanks for the response, Jennifer. I am eating very healthfully, and I am aware of much of what you have said, any oil I use is either coconut or avocado. However, I still have all of these symptoms. I am on another anti – inflammatory regimen to combat this, but I have heard of people doing a liver cleanse and feeling wholly emancipated from the disorder. I am currently eating fresh organic fruit and veggies, and have cut out meat, dairy, and gluten, and dairy and gluten are ver inflammatory. I have, however, eaten quite an abundance of foods cooking in bad oils, or consisting of, lets face it, plain chemicals, and I just wanted to know if in our experience this has been a factor. Still doing the cleanse regardless. Thank you!

          Hi Cam,

In my experience, I have never seen anyone free themselves of depression from a liver cleanse…and I’ve been working in this field for 20 years now. I have seen certain mineral deficiencies come up with depression, and most notably when we change the diet for the better as I mentioned previously, that dark cloud can really lift. The emotions most often linked to the liver are anger and impatience. Certainly I have heard stories of people having less sparky angry reactions and feeling more calm and patient after cleansing. A liver cleanse is a nice mini reboot and if you are curious to try it, then why not?! Good luck and all the best!

          Dear BJ,

In an ideal world..yes a colon cleanse should be done prior to the liver gallstone flush, mainly so the colon is clear to flush the stones out easily and to give the liver/gallbladder a green pass to do their healing. The alternative is to eat a clean, high fiber diet with no dairy, alcohol, fried foods or coffee for several days before doing the flush. At a minimum a clean diet should be done to minimize your chance of getting sick and maximize your results.

To be honest, in my experience…most people do not have the patience to do one cleanse at a time and in the correct order that they should be done. They rush through the process wanting to clean out as fast as possible and do not respect or consider that the body choses the pace for healing, not the mind! Then they complain that they didn’t get any results, yes…it’s true! If you were to take the time to do colon cleansing first, you would be much further ahead of the game in the long run. Great question and good luck with your healing!

          My best,

          Jennifer

      Dear Linda,

Legally only your medical doctor can advise you on what to do so always best to ask them for answers. You can still drink fresh apple juice and also fresh lemon or raw apple cider vinegar in water – all of which are said to help break up and dissolve gallstones. Even to help your body prepare for surgery and recover more quickly after. Note: this is for informational purposes only and is not meant to replace any medical treatment or advice.

Moving forward, it sounds like you may also want to consider making some changes to your diet…otherwise they will keep taking out organs until there is nothing left!

      Jennifer Thompson says:

      Dear Linda,

For a parasite cleanse, you want to plan to do one for 30 days; this is important in order to get the full life cycle of the parasite and kill off adults hatching from eggs during that time. Basically the 3 herbs that need to be in your formula are: black walnut, wormwood and clove. (Clove is very important because it helps to break down the cell membrane of the eggs so you avoid future infestation.) If you buy a black walnut/wormwood formula then buy additional clove capsules or tincture separately to also take. There are several herbal formulas out there by various companies. During a parasite cleanse, you are eating your normal (healthy) diet and no fasting is required. You should be going to the toilet every day naturally. With some of my clients, I also advise to eat or drink additional anti-parasitic foods/drinks during that time. Depending on what your Iridology reading reveals, I may recommend to repeat a parasite cleanse every 6 months for 2 years or once yearly. Thank you!

      To your health,

      Jennifer

I have just completd the cleanse from last night. I have some feedback to mention that could help future 1st timers to this. starting with the Epsom salts, as I found out, are a laxative all by themselves and I wasn’t expecting that experience from your description of what could occur after the 6 and 8 pm drinks . Also for me, the Epsom salts drink had me up and down way past the 10:00 hr and had to get up throughout the night and couldn’t lay still from the laxative effect. As a recent cleanser prepare with wet one wipes as they will help with the near end of cleanse care. All in all, I’m hopeful that this process has aided me in releasing toxins and built of stones in my system. Thanks for the recipe.

      Dear Bheng,

I’m sorry to hear about your mom. She is certainly lucky to have a caring child like yourself!

The more important question is: is she willing and ready to change her diet? This flush is NOT a good place to start for someone like her. In her current condition she would most likely vomit the drink within minutes and then be very unenthusiastic about trying any more cleansing ideas!

She needs to make more gentle but definite changes in the her diet first. However, if she is not willing to go there then we have a problem. Actually your mom is an excellent candidate for health coaching and in her case I would advise to do the 6 month program. Imagine after 6 months of steady and positive change how improved her health can be.

It’s really important to be realistic with expectations and when you have a few ailments going on, you have to be ready to invest some time and effort in order to experience real results. The ailments in her list are metabolic, that is, related to diet. That means a bad diet can create those conditions and conversely, a healthier diet can start to reverse them.

      Hope that helps!

      Jennifer

      Dear Nerina,

NO ONE should try a gallstone liver flush if they are in intense pain. I would advise your mom to ask her doctor for specific advice on diet and how to manage her pain.

RAW apple cider vinegar (acv) has been shown to help dissolve gallstones. Some people have noted that their pain will lessen if they drink 1/4 cup acv followed by water.

Always seek medical advice from your medical doctor.
