Vitamix 5200 Blender Giveaway (Closed – See winner below): The Details

Someone’s getting a new $449.00 Value 2HP Vitamix 5200 blender for Christmas, ready to make Green Smoothies for many years to come! Here’s what we’ve got in this FREE giveaway for you:

1 Vitamix 5200 Blender + My NEW Book: Green Smoothies for Dummies

In case you don’t know what a Vitamix is, it’s a blender. That means it blends the fiber and the liquid of whatever you put inside. It is not a juicer (a juicer separates the fiber from the liquid, leaving only the liquid for you to drink). A blender is very practical for busy people because it takes a just a few minutes to prepare your creation, is very easy to clean, and with a blender, you get all the nutrients from your food plus you get the fiber too. Most people are simply not eating enough fiber in their daily diet; the result can lead to poor digestion, acid reflux, arthritis, bad skin, weak liver, sluggishness, foul breath and even restless sleep.

Having a high power professional Vitamix 5200 blender is definitely some good motivation to start making change. Combine that with the delicious recipes in my Green Smoothies for Dummies book and you are going to start the new year right!

Here’s a super-yummy Liver Flush Smoothie recipe straight from the 3-Day Green Smoothie Detox chapter in my new book. (Yes, the winner gets a copy for FREE!) The combination of detox ingredients in this recipe helps the liver flush toxins more quickly.

Liver Flush Green Smoothie Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 oranges, peeled and seeded
  • 1 ripe banana, peeled
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
  • Dash cayenne pepper

  • 1 cup dandelion greens, loosely packed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, loosely packed

Directions:

1. Combine the oranges, banana, lemon juice, olive oil, ginger, turmeric, cayenne and water in the blender and secure the lid.

2. Starting at low speed and gradually increasing toward high, blend the ingredients for 30 to 45 seconds or until mixture is smooth.

3. Add the dandelion greens and spinach and blend again at medium speed for 30 seconds, gradually increasing the speed to high. Blend on high for another 15 to 30 seconds or until the entire mixture is smooth.

I will definitely start drinking a lot of green smoothies. And want to try making my own nut butters if I win the amazingly efficient vitamix! I really want to try and fix my digestion. I want to dedicate my diet eating only whole foods and nothing processed. Digesting seeds like chia and flax are hard on my digestive system and the vitamix would make this so much easier. I really want to take control of my health in 2015. This opportunity is amazing! Thank you!

One healthy change I’m going to make in the new year is to cook more and eat out less. I used to cook so much more and felt much healthier; I need to get back to that.

I’m so glad I caught this just in time! I’m an avid juicer/smoothie mad scientist experimenter and have been for years, but I could never afford a Vitamix, despite trying to save for one for years (emergencies, debt, etc…) but I digress.

I’m now in a place where I can really focus on my health. I’m fairly physically healthy, so my main priority now, is mental health, which will also improve my physical health. Balancing my mind, body and spirit, is my goal. One way I plan on this is through yoga (also to increase flexibility since I have none lol). Another is through being outdoors. I’ve always been an avid hiker and white water kayaker, but had to put that down for a while, while I was in the military and constantly moving and stressing. But I’m out and back on it! Hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, swimming and a little yoga pose on the mountain peak! 😉

Thank you for giving back and giving someone an opportunity to win something like this. Being healthy can be expensive 🙁

    Hi Healthy Bliss!

One change I plan to make in 2015 is to transition back toward my diet and exercise from when I was more severely struggling with candida. It is always on the edge and I really, really need to be conscious of what I put in my body and how I use it if I want to be and feel strong and healthy.

At 22, it is a difficult medical condition to deal with and can be really upsetting, even harder though is weaning myself off of ALL sugars. Unprocessed foods and the right ratios of acidic and alkaline foods really make such a difference in my condition – my body has never felt so good as when I ate fresh, natural, whole, pure, etc. and followed the Body Ecology Diet. Winning a VitaMix would make this SO much more appealing and easier for several reasons: 1. eating this way is EXPENSIVE, as a student it is already extremely difficult to pay to eat healthy, purchasing a VitaMix is unfortunately something way out of the range I can afford, 2. Smoothies and soups make it so much easier to eat on the go. Since a lot of the recipes for such fresh meals don’t keep well, I would spend SO much time cooking. VitaMixes are fast and efficient. Plus then I can actually include chia and Maca powder and other beneficial foods into my diet that I’m currently struggling to work in. This would be a HUUUUGE help. I really hope to win so that I can make my change and live a long, happy, healthy life and share my zeal with others!!
Thank you for the opportunity 🙂

One healthy thing I’m planning for 2015 is taking up biking. While I work out daily at home, I think doing so outside will do me a world of good.

I guess, just more healthy dinner recipes that are quick and easy, maybe more slow cooker ones would be nice to read in future blog posts on healthybliss.net 🙂

One healthy thing I am going to do in 2015 is make my family healthier meals. I have a bunch of family favorite recipes, however, they are not very healthy. I’m going to give those recipes a healthy upgrade and also search for better, more healthy new recipes 🙂
