<p>What about that aluminum in your deodorant?  Aluminum is a poisonous neurotoxin that accumulates in the body. <p>A Raw Food Diet can be a wonderful diet to help people achieve weight loss.  One of the main reasons why it works is because when you eat raw food, you naturally avoid the cooked food temptations that may lead you to over-eat.  Raw food also digests very easily and allows the body to get back into balance at it&#8217;s own natural pace.</p>
<p>Remember that it doesn&#8217;t have to be forever!  You can use it as a tool to get to your ideal weight and slowly you can re-introduce cooked foods back into the diet.  Eventually you may want to eat more raw foods anyway and that&#8217;s ok too!  But so many people make the mistake of thinking this is an all-or-nothing now-and-forever type of decision and it doesn&#8217;t have to be that way!  </p>
<p>Just consider that you may actually have a better chance of long-term success if you do a Raw Food Weight Loss Program rather than a full fasting program.  You will also be high-boosting your mineral and vitamin reserve and therefore gaining inner strength, increasing immune function and also cleansing the cells, blood and tissues.</p>
<p>I was successful using a Raw Food Diet to lose weight and the best thing was that I ate as much as I wanted!  I didn&#8217;t have to count calories or scale portions or weigh meals &#8211; in fact, I ate more than everyone else around me and I still lost weight!   It&#8217;s true!!</p>

Seems like people either love it or hate it.  Durian is a fruit native to South East Asia and happens to grow all over the island of Koh Samui, Thailand.  </p>
<p>It is the big brown spikey fruit that you may seem at certain times of the year piled high on little road stands around the island.  Inside the durian is the soft, custard-like flesh of the fruit and it tastes delicious.  If, that is, you can get over the smell!   Yes, it is the durian fruit that is widely known for being the worst smelling fruit ever.  The smell is often compared to rotten eggs, dirty socks, smelly armpits and even toe jam. And it&#8217;s true!  </p>
<p>In many places around SE Asia, durian fruit is banned in hotel rooms, buses, taxes and public areas because the smell is so strong, it can linger for hours, even days.</p>
<p>But, just like an aged cheese that might initially smell uninviting, when you get to the flavor, it can be astoundingly good!  Amazing good!  Quite possibly the best raw food experience you could ever possibly have!</p>

They also make durian chips which are deep fried &#8211; it&#8217;s like a potato chip but slightly thicker and made from durian.  Even though the chips are cooked and fried, they are certainly a better alternative to potato chips which are most likely genetically modified and most certainly contain preservatives.</p>
<p>Like cheese, some people like the fresh durian more firm while others prefer it more soft, like a custard.  In the supermarkets here in Thailand, they will not let you touch the pre-packaged durian because everyone wants to poke it to see how it feels!  </p>
<p>In Thailand, they also make durian ice cream and durian candies.  Thai people love the fresh durian!  They instinctively know the durian fruit is good to de-stress naturally, gain energy &#038; make you feel happy!</p>

Many people say that to balance out the energy of durian, one should also eat mangosteen sometime in the course of the same day as eating durian.</p>
<p>There are many health benefits to the durian fruit.  It is excellent for overall cleansing because it is a natural sulfur food.  It is an excellent source of good fat which is important to the raw food diet.  It is organic and locally grown, so especially is you visit Asia, you should be eating this fruit and not buying imported irradiated grapes from Brazil!!</p>
<p>Perhaps the best health benefit of the durian fruit is that it gives you a natural high.  It is an excellent raw food for relieving stress naturally due to the high amounts of tryptophan in it.  Tryptophan is a naturally occurring element in the durian known to relieve anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain and pre-menstrual conditions (PMT).</p>

The &#8216;Mon Thong&#8217; is one of the most popular varieties.  In Thai it means &#8216;Golden Pillow&#8217; and it really does look like a golden pillow!  This durian is know to be sweet and very tasty.  Then there is the &#8216;Channee&#8217; which is a bigger durian.  </p>
<p>I encourage you to try them all and see which durian you like best!  If you can&#8217;t make it to South East Asia for your durian, try your local Asian market.  Many times they sell whole frozen durians.  Ask around!  Whatever you do, don&#8217;t miss out on trying this very special fruit!</p>

What they forgot to mention, however, is that healthy skin starts on the inside.  There is no amount of cream, ointment, gel, powder or tincture that can give you nice skin.  </p>
<p>If you know my <a href="http://healthybliss.net/the-new-msg-is-it-even-more-deadly-than-msg-itself-ribonucleotides-your-health/">personal story</a> of having had a terrible skin rash for over 2.5 years, you know that I speak from experience!  During that time, I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would ever get a compliment on my skin again.  Now, I have people telling me that my skin is beautiful all the time!  Do you want to know my secret?  <strong>Living natural, whole &#038; pure!</strong>  It&#8217;s that easy!  I avoid food additives and eat as natural a diet as possible.  The only thing I put on my skin is pure, organic, virgin cold-pressed coconut oil.  From my perspective, if you can&#8217;t eat it, then you shouldn&#8217;t be putting it on your skin!</p>
<p>We have to remember that the skin is an organ, and in fact it is the largest organ in the entire body.  It is also an eliminative organ, meaning it assists the body in detoxification by pushing out toxins directly through the cells and membrane of the skin.  If you do not have a natural, healthy glow, it means that your body inside is overloaded with toxins.  Nothing that you try on the outside will give you long-term positive results as long as you continue to hold on to too much toxicity inside.</p>
<h13>When you do a cleanse, you are giving all of your organs a chance to rest, re-balance and rebuild.  Any type of cleanse or detox will naturally help the skin.  </h13>
<p>There are some additional things that you can also do to help your skin do it&#8217;s job. </p>
<h3>1.  Wear more natural fibers in your choice of clothing.</h3>
<p>Natural fibers such as cotton, hemp, silk, linen, bamboo and tencel all help the skin to breathe.  Artificial materials such as nylon, lycra and polyester tend to be much more harsh on the skin because the skin is not able to breathe properly.  Wearing these restrictive garments for too long can trap sweat and other surface debris, leading to breakouts, rashes and other skin disruptions.</p>
<p>In addition to the clothes you wear, you also need to be mindful of the sheets you sleep on and the pillowcases you use.  Try to switch to cotton or silk for all your bed linens &#8211; it is much healthier for your skin!</p>

<p>If you feel unwell after you have had this drink, it is a sign that your liver is detoxing rapidly and for sure you would benefit from additional cleansing, whether it be colon cleansing or liver cleansing.  You can have this drink once a day for a period of time when you are working on your liver, and if you enjoy the taste, feel free to have it every day!  It is all natural and a fantastic blend of Mother Nature&#8217;s cures!</p>

Remember too that everything you eat and drink which is natural will be good for you body!</p>
<p>The liver is affected by all chemicals, pesticides, caffeine and alcohol.  Long term, to really help detoxify the liver, it is important to look at all of these elements and how they may be affecting your liver and your body&#8217;s health. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In my most recent <a href="http://us1.campaign-archive.com/?u=425db4923979468a58027dccb&#038;id=764f6a6a09">Newsletter</a>, I featured the Liver as an important organ to cleanse.  With the exception of the skin, the liver is the largest organ in the body and performs over 500 functions, far more than any other organ in the body.  We cannot be healthy or recover from illness without a strong, clean well-functioning liver.  If the liver is unable to carry out its full function, not only does it become congested and weak; all other organs will be more challenged as a result.  </p>
<p>If you want to do more specific liver cleansing, you can try a liver/gallstone flush at home.  This flush can be done in just 24 hours, so it is easy to fit into a busy schedule.  It is recommended that you have done a full 7-day cleanse prior to this flush, mainly to take the toxic pressure off your organs and to be sure that your body is alkaline.  </p>

In the days before the cleanse, it is important to <strong>avoid fried and fatty foods</strong> so your liver is not over-worked or stressed.  <strong>Avoid avocado, cheese, nuts and fatty meats for at least 3 to 5 days before this cleanse.</strong>  If you work a normal Monday &#8211; Friday work week, it is best to plan to do this cleanse on <strong>Friday night</strong>, that way you have the entire weekend to rest, relax and recover.</p>
<p>The most common recipe to use for this cleanse comes from <a href="http://drclark.net/">Dr. Hulda Clark</a>, author of <a href="http://www.drclark.de/pictures/disease.jpg">A Cure for All Diseases</a>.  If this is the first time you are trying this cleanse, I recommend that you use this formula, outlined below.  If you release more than 200 stones in the first flush, it is recommended that you repeat the cleanse every 6-8 weeks until you have less than 20 come out.  It is believed that you may have to release up to 2,000 stones to rid yourself of allergies linked to liver congestion.  On my first Gallstone//Liver Flush, I released 600 stones &#8211; no joke!</p>
<p>Please note that with <a href="http://drclark.net/en/cleanses_clean-ups/liver_cleanses/liver_cleanse.php">Dr. Clark&#8217;s recipe</a>, she recommends using ornithine to help you sleep and she also recommends to do a parasite cleanse before you do the Gallstone Flush.  If you want to do those things, that&#8217;s ok; personally I have never used ornithine and I&#8217;ve done this cleanse 11 times in the past 7 years.  I did not do a parasite cleanse initially, although I have done them since&#8230;in my opinion you do not have to do a parasite cleanse prior to this flush, but admittedly you may get better results if you do so.</p>
<p><strong>Preparation</strong></p>
<p>Eat a diet high in alkaline-forming foods and low in fats for at least 3-5 days before the cleanse.</p>
<p>Help to gently prepare the liver by having a glass of fresh apple juice every day for 1 week prior to the cleanse.  Apple juice helps to dissolve the stones.</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<li>Epsom salts (Magnesium Sulfate): 4 tablespoons.  <em>(You can usually buy this at your local pharmacy.)</em></li>
<li>Olive oil: 1/2 cup or 125 ml (light olive oil is easier to get down). </li>
<li>Fresh pink grapefruit: 1 large or 2 small, enough to squeeze 1/2 cup (125 ml) juice.  (Or use 7-8 fresh lemons/limes: squeezed into 1/2 cup juice.)</li>
<li>1 liter jar with lid.</li>
<p><strong>Instructions</strong></p>
<p>Choose a day like Friday or Saturday for the cleanse, since you will be able to rest the next day. Take no medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without; they could prevent success. Stop the parasite program too, the day before. Eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch such as cooked cereal, fruit, fruit juice, bread and preserves or honey (no butter or milk). This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.</p>
<p><strong>2:00 PM.</strong> Do not eat or drink after 2 o&#8217;clock. If you break this rule you could feel quite ill later. Get your Epsom salts ready. Mix 4 tbs. in 3 cups (750 ml) water and pour this into a jar. This makes four servings, ¾ cup (185 ml) each. Set the jar in the refrigerator to get ice cold (this is for convenience and taste only).</p>
<p><strong>6:00 PM.</strong> Drink one serving (¾ cup) of the ice cold Epsom salts. If you did not prepare this ahead of time, mix 1 tbs. in ¾ cup water now. You may add 1/8 tsp. vitamin C powder to improve the taste. You may also drink a few mouthfuls of water afterwards or rinse your mouth. Get the olive oil and citrus out to warm up.</p>
<p><strong>8:00 PM.</strong> Repeat by drinking another ¾ cup (185 ml) of Epsom salts.You haven&#8217;t eaten since two o&#8217;clock, but you won&#8217;t feel hungry. Get your bedtime chores done. The timing is critical for success.</p>
<p><strong>9:45 PM.</strong> Pour ½ cup (measured) olive oil into the pint jar.  Squeeze the citrus fruit (grapefruit, lime or lemon) by hand into the measuring cup. Remove pulp with fork. You should have at least ½ cup.  Add this to the olive oil.  Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard until watery (only fresh grapefruit juice does this).</p>
<p>Now visit the bathroom one or more time, even if it makes you late for your ten o&#8217;clock drink. Don&#8217;t be more than 15 minutes late. You will get fewer stones.</p>
<p><strong>10:00 PM.</strong> Drink the potion you have mixed. Take it all to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Get it down within 5 minutes (fifteen minutes for very elderly or weak persons).</p>
<p><strong>Lie down immediately</strong>. You might fail to get stones out if you don&#8217;t. The sooner you lie down the more stones you will get out. Be ready for bed ahead of time. Don&#8217;t clean up the kitchen. As soon as the drink is down walk to your bed and lie down on your right side with your knees pulled up close to your chest. Try to think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a train of stones traveling along the bile ducts like marbles. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts!). Go to sleep, you may fail to get stones out if you don&#8217;t.  Try to sleep in this position.</p>
<p><strong>Next morning.</strong> Upon awakening  (6:00 am) take your third dose of Epsom salts. If you have indigestion or nausea wait until it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don&#8217;t take this potion before 6:00 am.</p>
<p><strong>8:00 am</strong> (2 Hours Later.) Take your fourth (the last) dose of Epsom salts. You may go back to bed again.</p>
<p>After 2 More Hours you may eat. Start with fruit juice. Half an hour later eat fruit. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light. By supper you should feel recovered.</p>
<p>How well did you do? Expect diarrhea in the morning. Use a flashlight to look for gallstones in the toilet with the bowel movement. Look for the green kind since this is proof that they are genuine gallstones, not food residue. Only bile from the liver is pea green. The bowel movement sinks but gallstones float because of the cholesterol inside. Count them all roughly, whether tan or green. You will need to total 2000 stones before the liver is clean enough to rid you of allergies or bursitis or upper back pains permanently. The first cleanse may rid you of them for a few days, but as the stones from the rear travel forward, they give you the same symptoms again. You may repeat cleanses at two week intervals. Never cleanse when you are [acutely] ill.</p>
<p>Sometimes the bile ducts are full of cholesterol crystals that did not form into round stones. They appear as a “chaff” floating on top of the toilet bowl water. It may be tan colored, harboring millions of tiny white crystals. Cleansing this chaff is just as important as purging stones.</p>
<p><em>How safe is the liver cleanse?</em> It is very safe. My opinion is based on over 500 cases, including many persons in their seventies and eighties. None went to the hospital; none even reported pain. However it can make you feel quite ill for one or two days afterwards, although in every one of these cases the maintenance parasite program had been neglected. <p>This procedure contradicts many modern medical viewpoints. Gallstones are thought to be formed in the gallbladder, not the liver. They are thought to be few, not thousands. It&#8217;s a very fine balance trying to succeed in today’s busy, crazy world while also making time for good food, nutrition, exercise and fun.  It’s all about the balance, right?  But how do you draw the line?  Where do you make the time?</p>
<p>I myself even struggle with this issue.  I get so busy with clients and writing and everything else that I can go for ten hours without a break.  I can be busier with my work now than I was even in Corporate America.  Everyone feels the pressure today.  So what do we do?</p>
<p>Here are some things that work for me:</p>
<p>1.	Take forced breaks.  Every time I get up for the toilet, I force myself to do one other task while I’m up.  It might be making my salad for lunch so that when lunchtime comes I have it already prepared, or it could be using a dry skin brush for a few minutes to get my circulation going.  I might do some stretching, anything so that I have gotten something out of the break besides a toilet run.<br />
2.	Plan ahead.  I give myself mini-goals throughout the day so I now where I should be with my schedule.  I plan my day to include a walk or a massage or something that is just for me, so I know when that time comes I will stop, no matter how intent I am on my work.<br />
3.	Seek out help.  If I feel too overwhelmed, I look for help and try to delegate as much as possible.  At first this seems like it will take even longer because of the time to explain, but in the long run it will save a lot of time.<br />
4.	Meditation break.  Even for 5 minutes every day I stop, reflect and give myself a few minutes of just being, breathing and focusing on the now.<br />
5.	Look for healthy take-away.  Let’s be real – you might not have the time to make lunch or dinner even.  But you can find healthy options for delivery.  Don’t worry about the cost – if the $10 salad will stop you from eating the $5 hamburger it is well worth the added cost,. The healthier you are, the more productive you will be.<br />
6.	Always have healthy snacks on hand.  There are times where you might have to work a 14-hour day and those are the days where we don’t want you to lose your health in the process.  Keep dried fruit, raw nuts, or fresh fruit around so when you start to get the shakes you can grab a healthy bite and keep going.<br />
7.	Try not to eat late at night. Late night eating is the danger zone for most people.  That is when emotional eating occurs and even more so when you are under stress.  Be aware of that time for yourself; make a cup pf fresh ginger tea instead.<br />
8.	Don’t eat to please others.  Often we get caught into family and friends telling us what to eat.  Listen to your body; eat what you want when you want.  They will get used to it.  You will feel better.<br />
9.	Plan a holiday.  It’s important to give your body time to recharge, rest, relax and rebuild.  Be sure to make that time for yourself and eat healthy foods during your break so you return to work feeling restored and ready for the next onslaught.<br />
10.	Have fun!  Go out with friends, watch a funny movie, have a laugh – it’s the best stress-reducer there is!  </p>
<p>Keep in mind that you are creating the health of your future with everything you do today.  So make the time, even one thing every day, to invest in yourself.  Realize that health is the biggest wealth there is…as long as you do a little bit every day you can stay on the preventative side and still have balance in your world!</p>
