Wow, I’ve just re-read my experience from Sedona and I’m still feeling the excitement and motivation!! What a great idea to surround yourself with like-minded folks. Wherever you live, make an effort to get to know some people who are on the same path as you. Your chances of long-term success will be much higher.

Healthy means Balanced too!

Healthy means Balanced too!

So, I’ve been thinking a lot about the people I met at Raw Spirit and I’ve been trying to decide whether I should express what I am about to say. I think it is an important point, because a lot of people are genuinely trying to live a raw food lifestyle and they need to know what’s really happening out there. Ok I’m just gonna say it. I saw quite a few folks at the festival who were significantly overweight. That’s it. Call me a jerk, go ahead…I’m not judging anyone for where that are at on their journey. But this leads me to my ultimate question – is it better to be at your ideal weight while eating natural, whole and pure COOKED food or is it better for your health to be a 100% RAW foodist and be more than 30 pounds or 15 kilos overweight???

Because we are all seeking BALANCE in life right?

So which one is more balanced? I will have to be honest and put my money on the cooked eater. I do believe that carrying an excess of weight can be more detrimental to your health than eating healthy cooked food. As Bernard Jensen says, ‘Overeating can kill you.’

Now I’m not naming any names because the point is not to single anyone out, and each one of us has been that out-of-balance person in some way at some time in our lives….so I talk about me and I talk about you and I talk about him and I talk about her. We are all one.

Balance is the key to success!

Balance is the key to success!

The reason why I am saying this today is because I want people to embrace the WHOLE journey. It has to be on every level of consciousness. It can be dangerous to think that eating a 100% raw food diet gives you a free ticket to eat as much as you want. We need to find balance even within this diet and lifestyle choice. And again, I think it is important to stress that you can choose whatever percentage of raw food eating is right for you. As you go through life, this may change. And that’s ok. So start somewhere.

Don’t beat yourself up for eating cooked food. Stay as natural, whole and pure as you can whether the food is heated or not. Love yourself for who you are now, today in this moment …that’s ‘now now’ to all you South Africans :) Enjoy the survival journey. Get out there and move your body!! The body needs exercise!!

Tell someone they are beautiful!! Tell yourself that YOU are beautiful!

See the good, feel the love, take a deep breath and say LIFE IS GOOD!!!
